Heavy Rain and Strong Storms Later This Week

TONIGHT: Under a mostly clear sky, temperatures fall into the 50s with light winds.  Watch for some patchy fog by morning.  Either way, it’s a great night to open the windows for some fresh air!

MONDAY: Lots of sunshine and an overall drier air mass helps highs climb to the middle to upper 80s in the region.  Lows Monday night fall into the 60s.  Look for winds generally to turn out of the south, helping to bring some gulf moisture back into the region by Monday Night.

TUESDAY:  Under a partly sunny sky, we’ll climb into the middle to upper 80s.  It’s not out of the question someone hits 90.  We’ve pushed the rain and storm chances until early Wednesday, so we think it’ll stay dry in our region.

WEDNESDAY – NEXT WEEKEND: An active weather pattern emerges with the expectation of more rain and storms.  Severe weather is a concern with the potential for several rounds through the period.  However, with heavy rainfall, the main threat will be for flash flooding and the potential for river flooding again.  We expect to add 2-5″+ of rain across the region before the end of next weekend, with locally higher amounts possible.  Some strong to severe storms also cannot be ruled out.  Best odds look to be on Thursday and Thursday Night, but we’ll have to watch other opportunities that may arise.  We’ll monitor things and fine-tune the forecast as we move forward.  Look for temperatures to in general be in the upper 70s and low 80s with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.
