More Rain and Storms Today

More Rain and Storms are anticipated today into tomorrow, but drier weather with warm days and cool nights are around the corner.

TODAY: More rain and storm are anticipated through the day under a cloudy to mostly cloudy sky.  Rain and storm are likely through the morning hours with more development expected in the afternoon on a scattered basis.  Highs climb into the upper 70s and low 80s.  Best odds for some afternoon sunshine are along and west of a line from Winona to Oxford.  Look for southwest winds 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: Expect more scattered showers and a few storms overnight as lows fall into the low 70s under a mostly cloudy to partly cloudy sky.  Winds are from the south from 3-8 mph.

TUESDAY – WEDNESDAY: Scattered to numerous showers and storms again are expecte on Tuesday, with some scattered storms anticipated on Wednesday.  The later we go, the lesser the chance for rain and storms.  By Wednesday Night, a cold front will push through, effectively ending storms for a few days.  Temperatures remain in the upper 80s, with the heat index values 100+ through the afternoon thanks to muggy air in place.  Lows fall into the low 70s Tuesday Night, but dip down into the mid 60s Wednesday Night behind the front.

THURSDAY – WEEKEND: High pressure finally sets in, bringing us drier weather.  Look for warm days and cool nights with lots of sunshine.  It will feel beautiful.  By Sunday, the Gulf Moisture starts to make a return, so a few scattered showers and storms are possible.  We’ll keep you advised.
