Showers On The Way

TODAY: Highs top out in the upper 50s. Clouds increase and thicken during the day with rain showers becoming likely by the late afternoon and evening. Be sure to pack some wet weather gear if you’ll be attending a high school football game. Southeasterly winds will strengthen between 10 and 15 mph as the day wears on.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Areas of showers pass on by with most if not all of the rain coming to an end before sunrise Saturday. Some areas will see 1/2″ of rain, if not a little more.  Lows should be mainly in the upper 40s to near 50.

SATURDAY: There may be a lot of clouds initially but we expect them to thin out as the day wears on. Highs in the upper 60s to around 70 are possible if enough sunshine can occur. Dry conditions are on track for the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa with kickoff temperatures in the mid 60s.

SUNDAY: Mild highs in the upper 60s to around 70 remain possible even with a cold front passing through the region. Most of the energy will remain well north of our area but there may be a few showers & t-showers that manage to get squeezed out in our neck of the woods. We’re going to keep the chance of rain at just 30%.

NEXT WEEK: Quiet and sunny weather returns, but temperatures take a tumble to start things off.  Upper 40s to lower 50s will be common Monday and Tuesday with overnight lows dropping below freezing once again.  We’ll keep a gradual warming trend, likely reaching the upper 50s by Thursday for daytime highs.  An isolated shower is expected Thursday.
