Warming Up Through Work Week; Cold Snap Starts Sunday.

TODAY: Overcast in the morning and early afternoon, with a few breaks in the cloud cover in the late afternoon and evening. High temperatures in the upper 40s. Northwest wind at 4-8 mph. Becoming partly cloudy overnight. Lows in the upper 20s and low 30s.

WEDNESDAY: We remain dry and see a bit more sunshine Wednesday with highs in the mid 50s. Clouds build back in overnight with lows in the 40s.

THU-SUN: A couple of rain producers move through our area in the latter half of the week, with the first moving through on Thursday. Showers move continue Thursday night, then dry much of the day Friday with showers becoming possible Friday evening and overnight. Widespread showers and a few thunderstorms Saturday. We’ll have to keep an eye out for the chance for a strong storm or two. Cold air rushes in to catch the back edge of the rain Saturday night into Sunday. A brief period of wintry mix is possible, but based on the warm, wet ground, and unlikelihood of any significant amounts of wintry mix falling, major impacts look very unlikely. We’ll keep an eye on it. Temperatures trend up through Saturday making it into the low 60s Friday and Saturday. Then very cold Sunday with highs remaining in the 30s.

MLK DAY: Partly cloudy and cold. Temperatures starting out in the teens in the early morning. Highs in the upper 30s.
