Damp & Breezy Tuesday, Unsettled Through Sunday

An active southwest flow pattern is setting up for the rest of the work week and the upcoming weekend. A few rounds of rain and storms may produce an additional 2-5″ of rain (or more) that may lead to flooding.  Some severe weather is possible too.

MONDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy and dry conditions will be had during the evening with temperatures falling from the 40s back into the 30s. Clouds thicken later tonight with some showers becoming possible by sunrise. Wake up temperatures should range from the 30s to around 40. Northeasterly winds between 5 and 15 mph remain in place during the night.

TUESDAY: It’s shaping up to be a cool, damp, and breezy day across the area. Showers will gradually turn into widespread rain as the day goes on. Heavy rain is possible at times during the afternoon and evening. Temperatures should warm into the 40s and then hold steady for most of the day.   Milder upper 40s to low 50s possible during the evening as warmer air surges northward from the Coast. Northeasterly to easterly winds look to be in the 10 to 20 mph range all day long.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Areas of rain with a few embedded storms are likely going to continue. Temperatures should moderate into the 50s for all locations as winds become more southerly with time.

WEDNESDAY: Temperatures peak somewhere in the 60s with continued rain and storms in the region. Some strong to severe storms are possible as well.

THURSDAY-FRIDAY: More showers are likely with the chance at 60-70% each day. Temperatures are expected to bob back and forth from the 50s to the 60s.

SATURDAY: An unseasonably warm and humid air mass is expected to develop around the region as yet another disturbance rolls on through the Deep South.  This of course means more rain is on the way. A wave of strong to severe storms is possible during the 2nd half of the day and into the evening. Highs may push well into the 70s.

SUNDAY:  Less active weather returns but a few lingering showers are possible.  Highs stay in the 60s.
