Showers; Wide Range Of Temps Today.

TODAY: A stationary front is draped across the mid south today, and this will lead to a fairly wide range of high temperatures today. Highs will range as low as the mid 50s in places like Oxford, to around 70 in places like Aliceville. A few scattered downpours will be possible today. Overnight lows range from the upper 30s to around 50, with most spots bottoming out in the 40s.

FRIDAY: The front sags south of our area on Friday, leading to afternoon temps ranging from the mid 50s northwest to the mid 60s southeast. An isolated shower or two will be possible Friday. Lows in the 40s and 50s.

SAT/SUN: Relatively mild across the area this weekend, with the chance for rain. Scattered showers on Saturday, with more widespread rain Sunday. A cold front pushes through Sunday, and temperatures drop quickly Sunday afternoon and evening. Lows Sunday drop into the 20s. There could be a flurry or two Sunday evening, but we’re not forecasting any frozen precipitation of any consequence.

MON/TUE/WED: We get a taste of winter as we kick off the first week of March. High temperatures will remain in the 40s under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows will drop into the 20s, and perhaps the teens in a few spots.
