Scattered Showers and Storms Likely Today
TODAY: We’ll be watching some scattered showers through the day, but we expect some drier weather if not even a taste of sunshine in the afternoon. Later this evening into tonight, a cold front will push through bringing more showers and storms. These likely will be below severe limits, but some gusty winds and heavy rain are not out of the question. Look for highs in the low to mid 60s in the Tupelo area trending towards the upper 60s and low 70s in the Golden Triangle. It may be breezy at times with south winds 5-15 mph. Lows tonight fall into the mid to upper 40s as winds shift back to the north.
TUESDAY: Some more showers hang around for the morning hours, but by the time the morning commute looks to start we should be back to mostly sunny skies. Look for highs in the mid to upper 60s again with light north winds.
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY: A fair amount of sunshine is likely but it’ll cool down again. Highs will stay in the low 50s while lows fall down to around freezing.
NEXT WEEKEND: There’s another weather system heading in our direction next weekend that will bring a chance for showers and perhaps a few storms.
