A Columbus church is living out its name

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Community Wide Outreach Ministry is reaching out to its community and those impacted by last week’s tornado.

On Wednesday, the church planned to feed warm meals to about 200 people.

Fried fish, french fries, hush puppies, and cakes were all the menu.

The church sits in the heart of the tornado’s destruction.

The church building was also left with damage.

Pastor Randy Randle said the tornado’s markings are a daily reminder to help those in need.

“We’re over here every day with the people of this community and we’re always out trying to encourage and spread the good news and yeah, it’s only right for us to do this because if we can just give somebody a hot meal that may not have it, then God is pleased with what we’re doing,” says the pastor.

Pastor Randle said he wants the community to know the church is there for them.
