Showers and Thunderstorms On The Way

MONDAY: We’re expecting plenty of sunshine with highs in the low to mid 50s. Santa will have smooth sailing flying in to the Deep South Monday night with partly cloudy skies continuing and lows falling in the 30s.

CHRISTMAS DAY: As south winds increase and bring in some moisture and warmer temperatures, look for clouds to increase and the chance for a few isolated showers. Overall though, many of us stay dry. Temperatures look to head into the upper 50s and low 60s.

WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY: A few scattered showers are expected Wednesday, but the bulk of the rain and storms are expected to hold off until Thursday. It seems like we’re locked in on seeing showers and a few storms come into the area. However, the heaviest rains are currently anticipated to stay out of our area. If storms do form along the Gulf Coast as anticipated early Thursday, that will limit the ability for severe storms to form in our area, but we’ll still see some showers and storms. In addition, this will keep the highest rain totals just outside our area, but most still will still see up to an inch with locally higher amounts. We’ll update the information as it comes closer.

Look for highs to be in the 60s with lows at night in the 50s. The chance for showers continues on Friday.

NEXT WEEKEND: A few more showers are possible as another weather maker slides on our way. We’ll have to see how things play out, but for now we’ll put the chance for a few showers with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s and 40s.
