A former cabinet factory in Winston County has new owners

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The City of Louisville is bouncing back after a tornado and economic hardship hit the community.

City leaders are helping to move things forward by providing more opportunities for investors and residents.

“We’ve been grateful and so thankful over recent years that we’ve overcome not only a disaster but a recession that was such a devastating blow to our community, economically. Years ago, we had available space, all over the community, and now I’m proud to boast that in Winston County this behind me the last available industrial square footage,” said Mayor Will Hill.

That industrial park is now owned by the city.

Mayor Hill said he hopes to see new tenants move in soon.

“We hope to see jobs, but we hope to see capital investment, and we hope to see revenue. We hope to see this property being put back into good use,” said Mayor Hill.

But there is still work to do.

“Just like anything, if a car or a house sits, it will deteriorate and go down, and that’s what’s happened here. We have really made a lot of improvements just in recent weeks, and we’re thankful for our partners helping us do this, now that is in public control. We can now have city and county employees out here working, and we were able to clear offsides the building and clean out the building, so we’re ready to show the building,” said Mayor Hill.

Hill said this project is expected to help move the city forward.

“So it’s all about thinking about obviously today but really, 5, 10 and 25 years down the road,” said Mayor Hill.
