COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — If you’re going to be out of town Election Day, you still have some time to vote by absentee ballot.

The deadline to vote in the circuit clerk’s office is noon this Saturday.

If you’re mailing your absentee ballot, that needs to be received by Monday, November 2 at 5 p.m.

Circuit Clerk Haley Salazar says Lowndes County had a little more than 500 votes in as of last week, which is what she expected.

“During a presidential election year, we’ll probably do close to 1,000,” Salazar said. “That’s a pretty regular number for us at this time, for this type of election.”

The General Election is next Tuesday.
