Alabama Governor Kay Ivey cancer free

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WCBI)- Doctors say after about four months of cancer treatment, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey is now cancer free.

Back in September Ivey announced that she was diagnosed with stage one lung cancer and began treatments immediately.

Ivey says it was a small, isolated malignancy on her lung.

Doctors say they’ll continue to check up on her regularly to make sure the cancer doesn’t return, but as for now, doctors say she’s cured.

Governor Ivey says the she’s excited about this news to start off 2020.
