Alabama job growth surpasses national growth
ALABAMA (WCBI) – Job growth in Alabama has surpassed national growth.
According to the State’s Labor Secretary, Alabama set several new economic records in July.
Last month the unemployment rate was 3.3%, a new record low, beating last June’s.
In our area, the unemployed in Pickens County are also getting jobs.
4% of the population was jobless, a 0.5% percent drop, from June’s rate.
Lamar County also saw quite a decrease. That area’s unemployment rate is 3.2%, way less than what it was in June.
More than 57,000 Alabamians have jobs today that didn’t a year ago,
