An altercation leads to a shooting in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – An altercation from a social media post led to a shooting in Columbus on Sunday.

Police Chief Fred Shelton said two people have been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.

It happened Sunday afternoon on Read Drive in East Columbus.

Shelton said two people got into an argument when a gun went off.

No one was struck or hurt.

The two people arrested knew each other.

Their names will be released once the booking information is done at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
