Amory woman dead in Friday morning wreck

MONROE COUNTY (WCBI) – A Guatemala native who had settled in Amory is dead after a Friday morning accident in Monroe County.

Brenda Vecente-Recinos, 27, of Amory was killed after being thrown from the car she was riding in when the car left Highway 6 and flipped.

Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley said Vecente-Recinos died at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Gurley added that he is sending the body for an autopsy because the driver could face criminal charges.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
