An Aberdeen cemetery is getting a makeover

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – The Oddfellows Cemetery in Aberdeen is getting a face lift.

Volunteers are teaming up to help clean up the east side of the cemetery.

Lashawn Paine said he noticed a need after visiting his family members.

He said the city has stepped up to help with the cleanup, but there are some things still needing to be done.

“Unfortunately, it was terrible. Grass and lot of tombstones was down, and a lot of trees and everything was, you know, pretty much. Just, It didn’t look good. It was pretty bad,” said Paine.

Paine said he will be meeting with volunteers at the cemetery at seven Saturday morning.
