Annual event celebrates joy of reading at Coleman Head Start

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Blind folded Bowmen, Drum Tummied Snumms and the Wily Walloo all come to life for the students at Coleman Head start.

Guest readers from the Columbus Junior Auxiliary brought the fantastic world of Dr. Seuss’s “If I Ran the Circus” to life Friday.

The reading was a part of “Read Across America Day”.

The annual event to celebrate the joy of reading is usually held on March 2 to mark the birthday of Theodore Geisel, better known to children young and old as Dr. Seuss.

Since the 2nd falls on a Saturday, the kids got a one day head start on the festivities.
