Anonymous Donor Gives; 2 Additional Students to Enroll at MSMS

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- It’s an academic dream come true for some Mississippi students.

Two additional students will get to attend the Mississippi School for Mathematics–thanks to an anonymous donor.

MSMS officials say the donor made a commitment to giving $44,000 over the course of two years, and has already given$22,000.

State budget cuts caused the state sponsored school to cut enrollment this year.

The school has enough room to house 300 students, but this year the student body will be made up of 238.

“We hope that people take serious what MSMS can offer, not just on this campus but all over the state,” says Wade Leonard, Alumni and Public Relations Coordinator. “This kind of support puts on on that path and we are very grateful for it.”

The MSMS Foundation is currently seeking donations to admit another student. For more information, visit www.themsms.org
