Another positive CWD test in Mississippi

MARSHALL COUNTY (WCBI) – Chronic wasting disease continues its spread in North Mississippi.  Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks biologists say the latest case is suspected in Marshall County.

A white tail buck harvested November 23 has tested positive for the disease.   A sample from that deer is being sent to the National Veterinary Service lab in Iowa for the confirmation test.  If that test verifies CWD then regulations on feeders and harvesting deer in Marshall County will be put in place.    MDWFP is urging hunters to voluntarily submit their kills for testing at any collection site in the state.  That list can be found here.
