Appeals Court Rejects Yalobusha County Murder Appeal
JACKSON (WCBI) – The Mississwippi Court of Appeals is upholding the murder conviction of a Yalobusha County man.
35 year old Jermaine Crump was seeking a new trial for the 2012 murder of his sister in law Crystal Crump. The pair shared a home with other family members and a series of disputes led to the shooting death. On his appeal, Crump argues the death was self defense and the conviction was wrong. He also unsuccessfully claimed that at most his crime was manslaughter and not murder and the life sentence it carried.
