OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The Oktibbeha County Courthouse could be getting a makeover and it won’t cost local taxpayers anything.

County supervisors today gave architects until Jan 22 to submit proposals to design plans for a $285,000 courthouse renovation grant.

County officials hope to paint some heavily used areas, paint several offices, upgrade flooring and bring bathrooms into disability compliance. The building’s main rear parking lot also may be paved.

The federal Housing and Urban Development grant does not require any local matching money.
