COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Hard work pays off for some Lowndes County students…

Today, the Columbus Exchange Club presented the Accepting the Challenge of Excellence and youth awards.

The A.C.E awards honor those who have excelled in spite of challenges throughout high school.

Vice President Jerry Fortenberry says he hopes the students feel accomplished.

“Well I think it would mean a whole lot I know it would to be to be recognized for your efforts because anytime you are put out extreme effort and we are talking you know to be the best to be chosen as the best in your school is pretty much that’s a heavy award,” said Fortenberry.

18 awards were given out.
