Armstrong Middle School evacuated due to gas leak

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Students at Armstrong Middle School are being evacuated and taken to SHS Football Stadium due to a gas leak on campus Tuesday afternoon.

AMS school officials will release students to their parent/guardian with a valid drivers license who are listed on the emergency contact card, according to a tweet by Starkville Schools.

The school district asks that parents do not go to AMS campus.

The evacuation was recommended by Atmos Energy after an elevated gas level was detected in a test area.
