Arrest made in hit and run that killed pedestrian

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – An arrest has been made in the case of a pedestrian killed in a hit and run in Tupelo.

Tyler Jernigan, 19, was charged with Leaving Scene of Accident with Injury/Death.

Tupelo PD said Jernigan contacted investigators through legal counsel wishing to make a statement regarding the Decemeber 20 death of a pedestrian.

The victim, Brandi Oliver, 42, of Birmingham, was found deceased on North Front Street after apparently being struck by a car.

Bond was set at $10,000.
