Aspiring entrepreneurs make their pitch

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCB) – Aspiring young entrepreneurs had a chance to present ideas to judges in Starkville on Tuesday night.

Nine groups of Starkville students presented their original innovations.

Students competed to win thousands of dollars to get a jump start on their future businesses.

The LCM Green Company won the Junior High Division, and High School Dry Erase won the High School Division as well as the overall award.

Organizers said the competition helps students get an early start on making their dreams come true.

“Before we started we encouraged any of the teams that want to carry on with their project to contact us at the Entrepreneurship Center, we also have our public maker space right around the corner here and we’d be happy to help them develop a prototype to bring that dream to a reality,” said Mississippi State University’s Outreach Director for the College of Business Jeffrey Rupp.

This competition was put on by the Mississippi State Entrepreneurship Center, the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, and International Paper.
