Assistance For Families Who Lost Their Homes To Fire

COLUMBUS, Miss.(WCBI)—No one is ever completely prepared for a house fire.
Columbus Fire and Rescue along with the Starkville Fire Department have facilitated a fire shelter.
Families who have lost their homes to fire are able to stay in the shelter for two nights while they begin the recovery process.
Shortly after the family arrives in the shelter, the Red Cross steps in to assess the situation and supply the family with money clothes and get the relocation process started.
The Columbus Shelter is located in the Columbus Housing Authority Building Starkville’s shelter is Located in the pecan acres subdivision.
