Baptist Welcomes New Family Practice Physician

COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) — Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle welcomes new family practice physician Kevin Ricks, MD to its medical staff. Dr. Ricks practices at Baptist Medical Group – Golden Triangle Family Medicine at 2402 5th Street North in Columbus.

Dr. Ricks received his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He graduated from the St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and completed a residency in family medicine at the LSU Baton Rouge General Family Medicine Residency Program in 2011.
Originally from Independence. La., Dr. Ricks is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

In his free time Dr. Ricks enjoys working out, hunting, fishing, jogging and other outdoor activities.

“We are excited to have Dr. Ricks join our staff,’ said Baptist Golden Triangle Administrator and CEO Paul Cade. “By joining Nurse Practitioner Michelle Parsons at our existing BMG Golden Triangle Family Medicine clinic on Fifth Street North, we are able to expand our services to better meet the needs of our community. This clinic will continue to take walk-ins, and we plan to offer extended hours in the near future” Cade said.
