Bicyclist hit by car in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle in east Columbus this afternoon.

The crash happened in the 700 Block of Alabama Street.

An SUV collided with the bike.

Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton said the accident remains under investigation and not many details can be released at this time.

The bicyclist was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle and later airlifted to another medical facility
