Black History Month Special: Honoring Soldiers of Color

COLUMBUS/STARVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- Throughout the month of February, we’re celebrating a history that is rich and full, tragic and triumphant.

We continue our Black history month series, “Made by History”, by honoring and remembering soldiers of color, who served during a difficult time in our nation’s history.

Our Renae Skinner sits down with local veterans who served in the army, during the Vietnam war.

They share stories of being on the front lines, hiding from enemy fire, while also experiencing racism.

Meanwhile, the civil rights struggle was ramping up in the U.S.
