Bond denied for two suspects charged with capital murder in Neshoba County

NESHOBA COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) James Kelly and Tyrone Baxter are charged with capital murder and kidnapping in connection with the body found in a Neshoba county pond. Altogether, nine suspects are charged.

“There were a lot of players in this case we are talking about now. The number nine is not specific. We have just followed the clues and the evidence that has just brought us to where we are at now, “said Sheriff Eric Clark.

Sheriff Clark said the sheriff’s department has worked tirelessly, alongside multiple agencies to get answers in this case.

“This is a huge injustice to our community and to the families involved. The Neshoba County Sheriff’s Department is going to do ever thing they can to bring the ones that need to be brought to justice, we’re going to do that. I just want people to trust in us and have faith in us and know we’re out here trying to do the right thing,” said Sheriff Clark.

Sheriff Clark said he will not release any further information about the investigation until the body is identified.

“We are dependent on the Mississippi crime lab in giving us an identity. We have clues that lead us into a certain direction. I will not sit here and say we don’t, but I just want everyone to be patient in this and know there are steps we have to follow,” said Sheriff Clark.

Sheriff Clark encouraged anyone who might have information about this case to contact the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Department.
