Booneville Man Charged With Capital Murder

BOONEVILLE (WCBI) – A Booneville man could get the death penalty for the alleged killing of his wife.   Booneville Police Chief Michael Ramey says 22 year old Mike Rutledge is suspected of the stabbing and beating death of his estranged wife Laura.

Her body was found Friday in the woods near their apartment on North College Street in Booneville.   Mike Rutledge was picked up shortly after his wife’s body was located.    Ramey says they believe Laura Rutledge was kidnapped because she was tied up when she was discovered.  That is leading to the kidnapping charge which allows prosecutors to lodge the capital murder case against him.
