COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi University for Women President Dr. Jim Borsig is looking forward to the new school year.

The W’s top leader gave a University update to the Town and Tower club Tuesday morning.

Summer renovation work is complete on several residence halls. Sprinkler systems are now installed and the dorms are ready for students.

Borsig also says more freshman are enrolled for classes compared to last year.

As for bringing athletics back to campus, Borsig expects a final report from consultants this fall with recommendations.

“If we do this, we have to do it at a level that fits the University. There’s been good indication at every step of planning that we’re going to be able to do this. We’ve still got some T’s to cross and I’s to dot, and it really comes down to conference and competition,” Borsig said.

MUW students will move in August 16. Classes start August 21st.
