Boys & Girls Club Host Day Of Service As Part Of BGC National Week
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- All week long Boys and Girls Club’s across the nation are celebrating their national week.
On Wednesday the Columbus Boys and Girls Club kids were put to work.
A few spent the afternoon at the Columbus Fire House on Martin Luther King washing one of the fire engines.
Before they were to work fire fighters gave them a quick tour and showed them how to start the truck up.
Then it was time to get to work.
“When I started spraying it, it was cool, then I was like woah. Then they said they do it everyday and I was like wow,” said Kamryn Ross.
“I thought I was really cool because I’ve never swept a fire truck before,” said Davion Henderson.
Another group of kids spent the afternoon helping sort out uniforms at the Columbus Police Department.
