BREAKING – Cold Contributes To Area Death

TUPELO, Miss. ( WCBI) –  The cold weather across the region is being blamed in part for the death of a Tupelo woman.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green says 45 year old Kerry Merritt of Tupelo was pronounced dead at NMMC just before Noon today, January 1.

Green says Merritt, who has a history of health problems fell ill on her porch at some point before she was found around unresponsive around 9:00 a.m.
