BREAKING: Former Webster County Chief Investigator arrested

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The former chief investigator for the Webster County Sheriff’s Office is being booked into the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department at this hour, along with a female jailor FROM That county.

Landon Griffin was fired by Webster County Sheriff Tim Mitchell on the day Mitchell was arrested by the MBI.

Mitchell faces 12 felony charges, including Embezzlement, Sex with an Inmate and Trafficking Drugs.

Griffin was hired by Mitchell in February on 2016.

MBI notified Oktibbeha County late Monday that they were transporting the two former Webster sheriff’s employees for booking.

Oktibbeha County Chief Investigator Brett Watson confirmed that Griffin and a jail employee are in the process of being booked at this time.

Watson can not confirm the name of the female, nor the charges at this time.
