BREAKING: Multiple Agencies Working Homicide Investigation After Body Found In Pickens, Co.

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – We now know the name of the man found dead in Pickens County, and several agencies are working to find out what happened.

Investigators say 52-year-old Henry Lee Easley’s body was found on County Road 53, near Bains Road, early Sunday, September 17.

Columbus Police were contacted that morning, and yesterday, September 20, they received a missing person’s report on Easley.

Family members tell police Easley went to a wedding in Caledonia on September 16 and was later dropped off in Columbus by a family member.

Pickens County Corner Chad Harless says Easley’s body had several gunshot wounds.

Law enforcement in Mississippi and Alabama are investigating what led to Easley’s death.
