Bridge Work Will Mean Traffic Delays In Monroe County

Bridge Repair on Highway 278 Bridge in Monroe County Next Week

WHO:              The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).

WHAT:            The Highway 278 Tennessee-Tombigbee River Bridge will be restricted to one lane of traffic Monday morning as crews make joint repairs to the bridge. Traffic flow will be controlled by signalization at both ends of the bridge. While traffic will remain passable in both directions, motorists should expect delays through the duration of the repair.

WHERE:         Highway 278 between Cotton Gin Road and Waterway Drive in Monroe County.

WHEN:           The lane closure will begin Monday, October 10 at approximately 8 a.m. MDOT anticipates the lane closure to remain in place until the completion date of October 28 or until repairs are complete.
