Video: Bruce Sets FY 2017 Budget
BRUCE, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s time for cities and counties to set their budgets for the new fiscal year that starts on October 1st.
The city of Bruce recently just set theirs, and not many changes were made.
There were no cuts to the budget, and no tax increases for the city.
Alderwoman Ellen Shaw says the board is proud of the new budget.
“We’ve really been very fortunate. We’ve actually given our employees raises, and we’ve done some more implementations of software, and added things to our city, so we’re real excited about that.”
On Monday, the city celebrated a new turn lane at the Weyerhaeuser Mill, which is one of Bruce’s biggest tax payers.
