Bully Closet & Pantry officially open at MSU

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- The Bully’s Closet and Pantry is officially open on Mississippi State’s campus.

A ribbon cutting was held Friday morning to celebrate the new food pantry for students.

Recent research from Temple University shows that almost 36% of college students don’t have enough to eat.

When you think about it, college students are juggling stressful classes, jobs, paying for those courses and books…it adds up.

Bully’s Closet and Pantry though, is right on campus there to lend a hand.

“We have students who struggle and some students notice and some do not, so we really have to think about how we can be a community of concern and we can make sure we are taking care of each other whether that be from a good perspective, from homelessness, or even just from the perspectives available for educators,” said Montelleo Hobley.

The purpose of the pantry is to provide students with a healthy and balanced meal.

The Bully Pantry is located at 120 Morgan Drive there on State’s campus.
