Caledonia Mayor’s Race Still Up in the Air

CALEDONIA, Miss. (WCBI) – Over 24 hours after the polls closed on Election Day it still isn’t clear who the next mayor of Caledonia will be.  Tuesday’s initial count showed incumbent Bill Lawrence with a 2 vote edge over challenger Mitch Wiggins.  That vote didn’t take affidavit ballots into account.

After 2 full counts on Wednesday, the race is knotted up at 172 votes apiece.  Election officials will meet again Wednesday morning to count again.  If that ends in a tie, they will then began the process of determining a tie-breaker.
