Calhoun City man arrested for child sex crimes

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Calhoun County investigators traveled to Phoenix to arrest a man wanted for child sex crimes.

Jose Rubio was booked in the Calhoun County jail Wednesday morning.

He’s charged with Sexual Battery and Touch a Child for Lustful Purposes.

Sheriff Greg Pollan said a child reported the alleged abuse to a school employee, which led to the investigation by deputies and child protective services.

Rubio fled to Arizona before he could be arrested.

He waived extradition on January 2.

Rubio’s bond hearing is set for Thursday.
