SHOOTING

Sheriff Greg Pollan says his office answered a shots fired call at a County Road 300 home around 9:30 Tuesday night.   Deputies arrived to find  27 year old William Eacholes with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.   Witnesses say Eacholes had been handling a gun when it went off striking him once in the chest.  Sheriff Pollan says evidence at the scene supports the witness statements that the shooting was an accident.  An autopsy will be performed at the State Medical Examiners office in Pearl to confirm the shooting was an accident.
