Calhoun County woman killed in motorcycle crash

CARROLL COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Calhoun County woman was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 55.

The accident happened about 1 p.m. Wednesday, near mile marker 180 in Carroll County.

State troopers said Charles Alan Russell, 46, of Pittsboro, lost control of the bike after the rear tire blew out.

Russell’s wife, Annie Russell, 48, died at the scene after being thrown from the motorcycle.

Charles Russell was taken to a Jackson hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
