Car Chase Leads To Multiple Burglary Arrests

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – At approximately 6:45pm on Thursday, July 20th, officers responded to a business on Highway 278 and found that there were 3 subjects stealing from the business through the stock room door, traveling in an out-of-state vehicle. The subjects had already fled.

At approximately 10:00 PM officers noticed the same vehicle leaving a business on Hwy 6. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, they fled.

A chase continued into Nettleton. The suspect vehicle sustained engine damage and the vehicle was abandoned by 3 occupants after going through a yard in Nettleton.

A short time later, officers spotted the suspects on foot near a car wash in Nettleton, and apprehended one juvenile. It was discovered that the three were from Memphis, one of which had ties to Amory.

The other two occupants were possibly identified as another juvenile and an adult.

It was found that they were stealing from the businesses and believed to be preparing to come back after hours. Identity of the juvenile in custody will not be released due to state laws.

The investigation continues into the vehicle which was possibly stolen from the Memphis area. We would like to thank the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Nettleton Police Department for their assistance.
