Car Crashes Into Local Business Storefront

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A shopping trip ends with a big bang in Columbus today.

The crash happened at Fred’s department store on 5th Street South, just before two this afternoon.

Two people were in the car when it hit the store. Police say the driver had a blood sugar issue that led to the accident.

She was taken to the hospital to treat that issue.

No one was injured in the crash.

A large plate of glass at the front of the store was broken. It is not yet known if anyone inside the store was injured in the accident.
