CAUGHT ON CAM: Car smashes into Columbus business

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Dramatic video sent to WCBI from a viewer catches the moment an SUV crashes into a Columbus business.

Police say the driver was inhaling something out of an aerosol can when they arrived on scene.

In this WCBI viewer submitted dash cam video you can see the Lexus SUV cross Tuscaloosa Road and smash into Muffler Magic.

The car never hit its breaks. Columbus police were called just before noon on Monday morning.

City spokesman Joe Dillon says the 56 year old female driver, from Jackson, was charged with DUI other.

The driver was taken to the hospital and later released.

Dillon says it’s a miracle no one inside the business was injured.

He did not release what type of substance the driver was allegedly inhaling.

The driver’s name isn’t being released because the charge is a misdemeanor.
