Choctaw County Scam

CHOCTAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Business owners beware. Officers are on the look out for a heavy set male weighing well over 200 pounds.

Sherrif Cloyd Halford says, Wednesday he entered the Quick Stop at 9324 MS HWY 9 around 6:15P.M. and pretended to be someone from Fairchilds Farms to get a refund on hydraulic fluid.

Deputies say, he put a note on a bucket of fluid and told the cashier he was to be refunded the amount listed, $278.00. The cashier honored the note thinking it was an invoice and handed the suspect the cash. The suspect then drove off in a Silver Chevrolet Camaro.

The owners of the Quick Stop are offering a $500.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction.
