Christmas Golf Tournament

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A few dozen golf lovers showed up on the greens Monday for a good cause.

50 golfers split into 13 teams for the annual Happy Irby Christmas Fund, 2018 Charity Golf Tournament.

The tournament raises money to buy clothes and other gifts for Christmas.

The gifts are given each year to children who may not always see gifts under the tree in the Columbus area.

Organizers say this golf tournament is one that can make a big impact.

“The project that we do is a needed one for our community and it helps kids that are in need,” said George Irby.

Last year, the tournament raised enough money to give nearly 400 kids around the Columbus area a gift for Christmas.
