Church arson investigation continues in Winston County

WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A church arson investigation continues in Winston County.

A $15,000 reward is being offered for anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Winston County Chief Deputy Keith Alexander says New Zion Baptist Church was intentionally set on fire back in June.

Alexander says the suspect knocked out a window to get inside the church.

Then, went to the pastor’s office and set two chairs on fire.

“It’s hard to prove who did it and that’s why we need the public. If they know anything to come to us and say hey, this is the information we have, where we can follow up on it.”

The church, State Fire Marshal’s Office, and sheriff’s department have all put up money.
