Citizen Complaint Leads To Pay Suspension For Aberdeen Alderman
ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI)- An Aberdeen Board of Alderman member’s pay has been suspended after the city learns of another position Cloyd Garth, Jr. is appointed to.
Sources say a citizen complaint led city leaders to being looking into the situation.
City officials say Garth has taken a job as an interim superintendent in the Hazlehurst School District, which is south of Jackson.
Sources say it was brought to the Attorney General’s Office attention as to whether or not Garth can be in both positions.
During Tuesday night’s Board of Alderman meeting, the board voted to suspend Garth’s pay until a decision can be made.
The next meeting is November 21st.
